This book represents a five year project, the goal of which was to standardize, revise, and update the Standard 26 American Drum Rudiments. The results are the Percussive Arts Society (P .A.S.) Official INTERNATIONAL DRUM RUDIMENTS. The nucleus of this new list are the Standard 26 American Drum Rudiments. Added to the traditional 26 rudiments are a number of drum corps, orchestral, Euro-pean, and contemporary drum rudiments. The rudiments in this listing have been grouped into the following four families: Rolls, Diddles, Flams, and Drags. Also listed are the "Seven Essential Rudiments", which are the seven rudiments that are necessary in order to perform allother rudiments. The "Seven Essential Rudiments" include: Single Stroke Roll, Multiple Bounce Roll, Double Stroke Open Roll, Five Stroke Roll, Single Paradiddle, Flam, and Drag. The International Drum Rudiments list remains open ended and will be revised and updated when necessary. |
